Piedras y Olas, means the Pelican's Eyes. Indeed, perched up high on this hilltop, it offers a wonderful bird's eye view of the valley and Pacific Ocean below and provides visitors with a cool, comforting, and quiet environment in which to rest and relax. We trained local tradespeople and labourers to build this hotel that has many creative details using materials, tools and techniques that were locally and culturally relevant. The aesthetic of the straw bale walls fits in very nicely with the traditional Latin-American architecture. |
