Knowing about food is important
It’s important to know where it was grown. It’s important how to prepare it. It’s important to know what tastes good. And its important to know what kind of food can bring people together. That’s what the High Park straw bale community teaching kitchen is all about.
The statistics on the rise in childhood obesity and poor eating habits are cause for concern, so making sure children know how to eat in a healthy way is extremely important to us. The Children’s Teaching Kitchen, located in High Park, does this in a community setting. It also teaches them how to grow and prepare healthy, nutritious food, while serving as a model of environmental stewardship.
The whole crew at Harvest Homes was proud to have been involved in a project with such a vision.
